| Cape Henry Stripers 23 Feb 08. Fished on Saturday
with Archie, Dave, and Brett. My last 2 trips was C&R so wanted
some meat this time. Once we hit the middle bay, some rain hit.
Swung by 4a and didn't mark any bait or fish. Visibility was only
1/4 mile due to the rain but best we could tell, nothing going on so we
headed over to CH with the fleet. Rain slowed down and we put
lines in right off CH Light.
Went 6 for 10 on the striper with the biggest going 44 inches and 37
lbs. Nice class of fish but they were scattered and we had to work
for them. All the rods got hit except nothing on the umbrella all
day even though we changed colors several times. Fish hit on a
mojo, tomic, parachute, and spoon all chartreuse except 2 on white.
Most of the fish seemed be hitting lower in the water column or near the
bottom. Fish all had bunker in the bellies.
Here is Dave's 44 incher and our biggest of the day (37 lbs).

Archie's striper

Brett's fat one.

Trolled by Succession who seemed to be having a good day.

Our meat run total.

Great day on the water. Love it when the fish are close by.
Thanks Archie, Dave, and Brett for crewing up. |
